15th International ARC Salon Exhibition
We are excited to announce a groundbreaking, first ever, online auction for Important 21st Century Realism hosted on Sothebys.com. Bids will be accepted during the exhibition dates. In person viewing will be available at Sotheby's, NY from July 16th – July 26th, 2021. 28 works from the show will be included in the auction, but nearly 100 works from around the globe will be included in the exhibition and on public view, including an additional grouping of works, not included in the auction, that are also available for purchase through the show. Starting as only a murmur in the 1980's, the 21st Century Representational Art Movement has grown exponentially along with interest and demand. Selected out of an original 4,941 entries from 83 countries and spanning six continents, the exhibition consists of many of the top winners and high-ranking finalists from the 15th International ARC Salon Competition. We anticipate this public sale hosted by Sotheby's will be the first of many.
The public grand opening of the 15th ARC Salon Exhibition will take place at Sotheby's NY, 1334 York Avenue, New York City, NY, Saturday, July 17th between 11am – 3pm. We request all visitors RSVP for this event. Entry is free. No masks required!
The show will travel on to the European Museum of Modern Art, (MEAM) in Barcelona, Spain from October 8th, 2021 – December 12th, 2021, where it will hang alongside the MEAM’s representational painting and sculpture competition, Figurativas. A joint award ceremony will be held on October 8th at the MEAM. This awe-inspiring international event will showcase the true international nature and collaborative spirit of this new wave in contemporary art.
We are also excited to be having our third partnership with Fashion Week San Diego, where FWSD designers will be matched with the nine winning artists' works and the designers will then create an original couture outfit and "look" inspired by each of the nine works of art chosen from the ARC Salon. After the first successful event at FWSD in San Diego, October, 2018, we decided we wanted to bring this event to NY while the ARC Salon Exhibition as a whole was on view. The ARC Salon winning works along with the specially designed garments will be débuted at Sotheby's NY July 24th in a singular event.
