“This is a very personal work for me. In the midst of global quarantine, we’re all struggling to find solace, beauty and hope in a confused and dysfunctional world. What’s real, what’s true, what holds hope when fear separates and constrains us? I wanted to show something beautiful but strained, an environment that represented safety, dilapidated; but with beauty still in the ruin. My wife, Jessica Gordon, an ARC finalist last year, graciously modeled for the piece and the result captured the vibrant contrasting visual I’d imagined. Additionally, this is my first work on board and was truly a learning experience for me. I wanted to capture a wide dynamic range of color and light. I’m loving working on panel and plan on this being the start of an entirely new approach to creating.” – Eddie Head
