“In these strange times I was able to turn inward and do what I did in my childhood, which was to turn away from the world of chaos I could not control and find myself and my sense of peace and purpose through art. “Melancholy” 46 x 72, oil on canvas, is the largest painting I have attempted to paint in my 8 years as a painter and by far the most complex in detail and composition. This colossal undertaking in my art journey, started in May, 2020 and was finished just in time for the Salon. I’m so thankful for ARC and the opportunity to contribute to the world of art as a working artist, teacher and mentor.” – Tina Garrett
