“This painting depicts fellow artist Jamaal Clark, looking out towards a setting sun. The portrait was painted completely from life over the course of several sittings. Once the head was complete I painted in the wool sweater posed on a mannequin. Finally, the background was based upon several plein air sketches of local landscapes that I had in my studio.
