The Art of James Gurney

September 15, 2015

ARC Living Master™ James Gurney is the artist and author best known for his illustrated book series Dinotopia. He specializes in painting realistic images of scenes that can't be photographed, from dinosaurs to ancient civilizations. He is also a dedicated plein air painter and sketcher, believing that making studies directly from observation fuels his imagination.
The show runs from September 1 through November 16, 2015 at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia - Anderson Hall - 333 S Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19107.

A public presentation will take place on Thursday, October 29th from 1 - 2:30 pm at Levitt Auditorium, and a reception will be held on Thursday, October 29th from 3 - 4 pm in the Von Hess Gallery.
