ARC Art Gallery List
153 galleries
Welcome to the Art Renewal Center’s Art Gallery List! Some of these businesses focus solely on Contemporary Realism and others carry a wide variety of works including Contemporary Realism, but in some cases also antique or Modernist work and even glasswork, woodwork, ceramics and other forms of merchandise. However, the one thing all these galleries have in common is that they support 21st Century Representational Art and include works by living artists who paint and/or sculpt in the traditional method.
The goal of this list is to help connect clients, galleries and artists to one another for the benefit of all!
If you know of additional galleries that sell or exhibit Representational Art by living artists, please contact us so that we can include them in this listing.

Andrei Kushnir

Still life and portraits also featured. Artists include: Andrei Kushnir, Michele Martin Taylor, Stevens Jay Carter, Michael Francis, Ross Merrill, Alexangel Estevez and Carol Spils. Our clients include public institutions, private collectors, local hospitals, US and foreign heads of state, organizations, institutions, companies, and visitors to the Nation's Capitol.
American Painting Fine Art began in 1997 as Taylor & Sons Fine Art, owned and operated by artist Michele Martin Taylor, on Pennsylvania Av., SE, Washington, DC. In 2002, Ms. Taylor and artist Andrei Kushnir went into business together and opened a gallery in Ellicott City, MD. In 2004, they expanded to include a gallery in Manhattan's East Village, where Ms. Taylor relocated. In 2006, Mr. Kushnir opened American Painting Fine Art on MacArthur Blvd., in Washington, DC. Although Ms. Taylor moved to the Northwest US in 2009, Mr. Kushnir frequently consults with her on all aspects of the art making and exhibition process.
As practicing artists, we have many years of study and understanding of the qualities of timeless painting. Selecting fine art for your personal or business space is a complicated and subtle process. We combine years of special knowledge, not only about art, but about the kinds of art that are most likely to stay the distance. 100 years from now, these works will still be understood, enjoyed and appreciated.

Broadway Gallery
https://broadwaygalleries.net
5641 B General Washington Dr
Alexandria, VA
From the very beginning in 1978, Sue Broadway, founder of Extra Touch of Class and Broadway Gallery, built her business on quality and service. In a cramped basement room of her townhome, Sue armed herself with a miter box, hand-held matting tool, hammer, glue, and nails to support her picture framing ambition. Due to her creative approach to framing, prompt courteous service, and unbridled enthusiasm for the art world, the business grew from a small shop into a reputable art and framing company serving the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. She soon relocated to its present Alexandria headquarters where a modern, fully-equipped production and warehouse facility was established.
In the years to follow, Broadway Gallery also became a major fine art source exhibiting a variety of paintings, original graphics, mixed media, sculpture and ceramics by local, national and international artists. The goal was to provide customers with a diverse selection of investment and decorative artwork ranging from traditional to contemporary while showcasing its distinctive framing. Art delivery, installation, restoration and appraisal were also added to the gallery services to meet the requirements of retail, corporate, and design clientele.
In 1995, Sue retired from the business and passed the torch to her son, Barry Broadway, and her daughter, Caron Broadway Moody. Barry serves as President, while Caron serves as Gallery Manager and Marketing Director. Both having been raised in the business, Barry earned a business degree from George Mason University while Caron earned a fine art degree from Pratt Institute, making them a perfect pairing to take over. Through economic ups and downs, Broadway Gallery has stayed the course and in 2014, opened its newest location in Great Falls, Virginia.
At Broadway Gallery, our goal is to enhance living and working space with beautiful artwork and quality framing. The Broadway Family’s mission for the future is to maintain the highest standards in the framing and art industry by having the best design and production staff available to meet the aesthetic and budgetary needs of our clients. Today, Broadway Gallery continues to thrive as a complete art service and resource center where personalized service and quality workmanship remain the focus.
Calloway Fine Art & Consulting

1643 Wisconson Ave NW
Washington, DC
Calloway Fine Art & Consulting, founded in 1993 in the historic Georgetown neighborhood of Washington DC, specializes in contemporary art by local, regional, and international artists. Artists represented include Caroline Adams, Brad Aldridge, Carlton Fletcher, Matthew Langley, Lindsay Mullen, Jim Perry, Karen Silve, and Maggie Siner. CFAC (formerly Susan Calloway Fine Arts) offers art collectors and enthusiasts a wide range of both representational and abstract paintings and prints, as well as select photography and sculpture.
In addition, the gallery provides extensive art consulting services, including on-site visits, for both residential and commercial clients. We are able to provide that one perfect piece, as well as outfit an entire home or commercial space, always bringing an understanding of not only the visual appeal but the true benefits to residents, customers and/or employees of providing original artwork to their environment.
CFAC is also known for its premier conservation framing services. By using all archival materials and techniques, the gallery ensures that the artwork is properly handled and “housed” for the future. By always bringing a sophisticated “eye” to the framing design and using only the highest-quality finished-corner frames, the gallery ensures that each work of art is enhanced by the final design. We also discuss where the art will be located with each client to be certain that choices made will relate to the overall space.
Susan Calloway opened her gallery in Washington DC over 26 years ago, and has since developed a following that ranges from first-time buyers to seasoned collectors who appreciate her passion for art and unerring commitment to quality. Armed only with a love of the visual arts and a great “eye”, developed by numerous trips to France, Susan started her gallery in a shared space with very little in the way of funds and absolutely no knowledge of the business. Since opening, the gallery has continuously evolved and expanded dramatically in scope.
Today the gallery is the premier location for archival framing, fine art consultation, and contemporary art in the DMV. Calloway Fine Art & Consulting always welcomes new customers and looks forward to exploring possibilities through great artwork. Come visit us in historic Georgetown today!

Originally established as a small fiber studio in 1982, the gallery today presents an inspiring array of original works and exceptional gift ideas for visitors and collectors, including paintings in oils, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media; giclees and limited edition prints; photography, pottery, designer jewelry, sculpture, wood, glass, fiber arts and more. The gallery conveys a casually elegant atmosphere with the spirit of the local community and summer residents along with artists' receptions and many exhibitions throughout the season in the High Country of Western NC. Gallery owner, Toni Carlton, extends a heartfelt appreciation to all the artists, literally hundreds, who have created, inspired and supported her vision to promote the work of local, regional, national and international artists. Their fine art and contemporary crafts have graced the walls, pedestals, jewelry cases and shelves of the gallery from the beginning.
For 21 years the gallery was located in the Creekside Building, formerly known as the Kiln Room in the 1970s. In 2008 Carlton Gallery moved across Hwy 105 into the former Antonaccio Fine Art Gallery. "After many floods, challenges with beavers, raccoons, and a leaky roof, it was a little sad to say good-bye to the Creekside Building," Toni says, "but we are happy in our perfect home today."
Castle Gallery
http://castlegallery.com
1202 West Wayne St
Fort Wayne, IN
Jodi Hemphil Smith
Built in 1905 as a wedding present for B. Paul Mossman and his bride, the Castle is of the Richardsonian Romanesque style. Masons gathered granite boulders from fields hundreds of miles away to be used in the construction of this magnificent home which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
In 1949 Mossman gave the home to the city to become the municipal art museum. In 1983, the museum moved downtown and the castle was restored for residential use. More than a thousand gallons of stripping solution, hundreds of dental tools and hours of time were involved in returning the original cherry, oak, maple, walnut and mahogany to its present state.
Jody Hemphill Smith and Mark Paul Smith re-established the Castle as an art gallery in 1995. Since then it has featured artists from around the world.
Castle Gallery shows are exciting events. This web site is designed to introduce you to the thrill of gallery viewing and to help you select fine art for your own space. Art enhances any home or business.

Gallery Henoch represents painters and sculptors who exemplify the best in contemporary American, European, and Asian Realism. The work exhibited comprises a wide diversity of styles and subject matter. These artists stand out for their imagination and distinctive personal approach. The gallery beginnings trace back to 1966 where its first incarnation was known as Christopher Street Gallery in Greenwich Village. Its rise in reputation coincided with a move to Madison Avenue. By 1982, the gallery artists were garnering reviews from the press. In this year Gallery Henoch solidified its position as an elite venue championing representational painters and sensing a shift in the art scene to SoHo, it moved to Wooster St. With the emergence of Chelsea as the new art center of New York, the gallery moved to 25th Street in the Fall of 2000. It now resides in a large multilevel ground floor space. Gallery Henoch features 8 shows a year and attends premier art fairs.

Hillside Fine Art

445 W Foothill Blvd-Suite 101
Claremont, CA
After 33 years of teaching junior high English it was time for a change. I had been looking for a passion for years. I've been lucky to have been good at and enjoyed many things: teaching, literature, friendship, entertaining, shopping, decorating, collecting, and art. As I contemplated retirement from teaching, it occurred to me that many of the things I enjoy could come together in one passion -- operating an art gallery. So a year ago, I began making plans. Finally a couple of weeks after my last day of teaching, I opened the gallery doors.
More than five years have passed, and I am so glad that I took this chance and realized a dream. I've learned so much more about art and have enriched my life in countless ways. Many people who have walked through my gallery doors, artists and collectors alike, have become good friends. And the art that I have been lucky enough to surround myself with, promote, and sell has brought me and others much joy.
Hillside Fine Art is located in the college town of Claremont, California, a place with a rich art history going back to the years right after World War II with artists such as Millard Sheets, Milford Zornes, Phil Dike, Harrison McIntosh and others. The Claremont Colleges became a center and training ground for young artists. In recent years Claremont has become quite a destination place, and is known for its many fine restaurants, unique specialty shops, a dinner theatre, and several already established art galleries. Hillside Fine Art is located on historic Route 66 in the Old Schoolhouse complex at the corner of Indian Hill and Foothill Boulevards.
It's my intention to offer art for the beginning and experienced collector. I'm looking for painters whose work I would want to add to my own collection and are recognized by the California Art Club and accepted into museum shows. Gallery artists include award winning painters Linda Brown of Claremont, John Budicin of San Bernardino, Martha Cowan of Rancho Cucamonga, Lynne Fearman of Sierra Madre, Marian Fortunati of Tarzana, Nita Harper of Rancho Mirage, Debra Holladay of Pomona, Laurie Hendricks of South Pasadena, Chuck Kovacik of Los Angeles, Jim McVicker of Humbolt County, Lisa Mozzini-McDill of Chino Hills, Michael Obermeyer of Laguna Beach, Rodolfo Rivademar of Los Angeles, Laura Wambsgans of Los Angeles, and Sharon Weaver of Los Angeles. All are members of the 100 year old California Art Club and full time professional artists.

Hirschl & Adler Galleries was founded in 1952 by Norman S. Hirschl and Abraham M. Adler. In 1967 Stuart P. Feld joined the firm as a partner, and since 1982 has served as its President. Originally housed in the Marguery Hotel on Park Avenue, the gallery moved to a townhouse on East 67th Street in 1958, and in 1977 relocated to a handsome landmark townhouse at 21 East 70th Street. After occupying a space in the Crown Building from 2011-17, Hirschl & Adler moved to its new home in The Fuller Building at the world-renowned crossroads of Madison Avenue and 57th Street in February 2018, where the gallery continues to specialize in American and European paintings, watercolors, drawings, and sculpture from the eighteenth through the early twentieth centuries; American prints of all periods; and American decorative arts from 1810 to 1910. Its contemporary arm, Hirschl & Adler Modern, has developed a select group of established and emerging realist artists and also features American and European art from the Post-War period.
Each year, the gallery assembles about a dozen special exhibitions exploring historical and contemporary themes, or examining the work of individual artists, past and present. Most of these exhibitions are accompanied by scholarly catalogues and other publications. The gallery provides a wide range of services to its client base of private collectors, museums, architects, interior designers, art consultants, and other dealers.

Horton Fine Art

Beaver Creek, CO
Walt Horton
The seeds of our gallery, Horton Fine Art, were planted back in 1980 on the island of Bermuda. Walt Horton, my husband, had always had a very lively, creative side and, on moving to the island, we established an advertising agency. It was a very short journey for Walt to become the island’s favorite cartoonist with a cartoon strip in the Royal Gazette and marketing campaigns for the local police, education and environmental departments. Moving to Colorado in 1992 we intended on continuing with what was working so well when Walt fell in love with bronze sculpture. His background as a cartoonist, - story telling, capturing, animation and emotion and his innate ability to make people smile – took his artwork leaps and bounds beyond that of other artists with decades of experience. It wasn’t long before Walt became a beloved bronze artist. With representation in some of the country’s finest art galleries the signature piece “Repentance” and the classic “Rhodent Scholars” attracted international attention and are still sought after today.
In 2007 we opened our own gallery in Beaver Creek, Colorado, including other artists we are proud to represent. In that same year the unthinkable happened – Walt passed away. When you visit Horton Fine Art today you will be thrilled to see there are still some editions of Walt’s work available. You’ll also find that our son, Jesse, has become a sculptor of note in his own right. With all of his father’s talent and then some Jesse is carrying on the Horton legacy. A world traveler with Pacific Ocean expeditions studying whale migration and the Five Gyres, Great White Shark photography off the coast of South Africa and a year as pilot of a research submarine Jesse has much from his own life to bring to the table when creating sculpture. Horton sculpture may be our touchstone, but the gallery is full of works of other renowned artists we have chosen, many from Colorado, others from as far away as the New Zealand. Our goal is to have a collection that makes our visitors delight in returning again and again to see what’s new – and to take home a piece of art that they will treasure forever.

The John C. Doyle Art Gallery has been in business for over 30 years, as Mr. Doyle began painting with many other local Charleston painters in the 1970’s when there were no galleries in Charleston, and eventually began selling out of his home and studio on King Street in the 1980’s. Mr. Doyle passed away in November of 2014 after completing well over 2000 paintings in his prolific career. It was his specific wish the gallery continue in his namesake, and gallery director Angela Stump is honored to abide this wish. We offer many original oils, sketches, and photography by Mr. Doyle, as well as over 150 high quality reproductions on canvas in all of the various subjects he painted – from blue hydrangeas to blues musicians.
We also represent fellow native Charleston artists Margaret Petterson and Anne Maree Lawrence. Margaret’s vibrant original oils and unique mixed media monotypes reflect the Lowcountry in a kindred way to Anne Maree’s whimsical watercolors in ecclectic subjects inspired by our southern living.
We are also thrilled to offer the serene oils of award-winning OPA painters Anna Rose Bain and Dhwani Parekh, as well as internationally renowned bronze works by sculptor Geoffrey C. Smith. Our newest artist to the gallery, Simon Kenevan, is world renowned for his epically beautiful seascapes.

Since 2003, LeQuire Gallery & Studio, has represented some of Nashville’s most popular artists, as well as nationally recognized contemporary painters and sculptors from across the United States. Visitors can browse over 5,000 sq. feet of floor space with well over 500 works of art and diverse, intriguing exhibits.
Our business is unique in that we are both gallery and studio. The vastness of the space and the variety of work, coupled with private tours of the LeQuire Studio create an engaging and inspiring “backstage” encounter.
Owner Alan LeQuire is best known for Nashville’s most iconic sculptures, Athena Parthenos, the largest indoor sculpture in the western hemisphere and Musica, one of the largest bronze figure groups in the world. He is also well known for capturing a striking likeness through sensitive portraiture, sculpting in multiple materials on every scale and continuing to push boundaries into the abstract and conceptual.
As the anchor of our business, LeQuire believes in the continuum of knowledge passed down through craft, and the life-long quest to create lasting, meaningful work. It is this core belief that dictates our business, the projects we accept, and the artists we represent.
LeQuire Gallery & Studio is located in a beautiful space on the bustling Charlotte Avenue corridor in Nashville, Tennessee. Five minutes from the Parthenon Museum, ten minutes from Mid-town, and at the heart of the diverse district of West Nashville, LeQuire Gallery has easy access and easy parking. It is a short walk to a number of local independent restaurants; Miel, Answer, Café Nonna, Hattie B’s, EiO & The Hive, to name a few. The eclectic WN mix also includes Rhino Books and Darkhorse Theater, as well as a number of thrift stores all adjacent to trending neighborhoods, Sylvan Park and The Nations.
Offering the opportunity to witness the sculpting of a portrait, a small study, or the building of a major new monument, LeQuire Gallery & Studio provides an insight for the public into the daily life of a sculptor. Visitors encounter the thought process behind each piece and the effort and attention to detail required to create such masterpieces, including the “clay to bronze” process. This excursion, for all ages, is well worth the trip, while the broad range of work in the gallery will inspire and complete the “Charlotte Avenue Experience”.

Lord Nelson's Gallery is located in the James Gettys Hotel building, one half block from Lincoln Square on Chambersburg Street (Rte. 30 West) in downtown Gettysburg, PA. Lord Nelson's first opened its doors in March of 1990. What evolved from an import shop selling Guatemalan goods, Belgian lace and chocolates, Alaskan carvings and Black Hills Gold jewelry, now specializes in Eastern Indian/Frontier Art — art depicting the 18th century frontier — as well as wildlife art and gifts. The store was named after Nelson, our black Lab who greeted Lord Nelson's customers until 1996.
Whether you're simply browsing, looking for wildlife related art and gift items, or are interested in historical 18th century art and books dealing with the Eastern Woodland Indian and frontiersman, Lord Nelson's should not disappoint you. Should you walk into Lord Nelson's with the intent of finding Civil War art, you have come to the wrong place. The first referral for Civil War items would be to visit the Gettysburg Frame Shop, just a few doors up the street.

Boulder, CO
Mary Williams Fine Arts LLC was started by Mary Williams and Nancy Ferries in January of 1996. Our gallery was located in Boulder Colorado at 21St. and Pearl St. We started out representing a collection of fine antique prints and maps, fine custom framing and living artists. Over the years, we grew the living artist arm of our business, and today, represent over 50 men and women. Nancy and I remained partners until 2006, when my husband and I bought out her interest in the business.
In 2012, we moved the gallery to a warehouse on the east side of Boulder. It is a stunning space in which to display fine art, parking is plentiful, and most importantly, my clients and artists love our new home. I have nick-named the gallery “The Secret Garden” as it is truly an oasis of beauty on the outskirts of town. I am a very grateful woman to have re-emerged in what will be … my last, best place. It is with thanks and pride that we have entered our 24th year in business.

New York, NY
Howard Rehs
Rehs Galleries, Inc. is one of the world's leading art galleries specializing in important 19th and 20th century works of art; with a particular focus on artists that exhibited at the Paris Salon and London's Royal Academy between 1860 and 1920. This family gallery has had a long and noteworthy history. Begun in the late 1930's, the gallery was the largest importer of 18th & 19th century paintings from Europe; bringing in close to 600 paintings a month. The firm was reputed to have bought out entire estates and large parts of auctions. Their style of purchasing was so grand that they were written up in The Bournemouth Times, Westbourne, England in November of 1958 when they purchased 60 paintings from one sale.
In the early 1960's Joseph Rehs entered the business and continued with the then current mission of selling works on a strictly wholesale basis - supplying many of the art galleries throughout North America. By 1978 the gallery moved to a new location on the East Side of Manhattan and began to cater more to the design professional and private collector. Then in 1981 Howard Rehs entered the business. With his strong art historical background, he and his father have guided the gallery to its current position in the art world - one of the premier galleries specializing in important Academic and Realist works of art. As always, the gallery prides itself on the quality and condition of the works it offers for sale.

Sorrel Sky Gallery - Colorado

858 Main St
Durango, CO
Sorrel Sky Gallery opened its doors in 2002 at the corner of 9th and Main in Durango, Colorado. In 2011, Shanan was able to acquire a long-term home for her gallery in the historic Hogan Building. Built in the 1890s, the building was a boarding house, a saloon and a barber shop before being converted in 1939 to Hogan’s Department Store. For more than 70 years, the Hogan family served the Durango community. Growing up in the area, and working downtown in her early 20s, and then running her own gallery nearby, Shanan had long been in love with the building. She let the family know that she was interested in its future, and when they decided it was time to close the doors of Hogan’s, they passed on the building’s legacy to her. After extensive renovations, which revealed many old architectural features that were skillfully and meticulously restored, Sorrel Sky moved into its new headquarters.

The Marshall Gallery of Fine Art

7106 East Main Street
Scottsdale, AZ
Peter Strub
Founded in 1999 by the erudite and cultivated attorney DeeAn Gillespie, the Marshall Gallery rapidly became a respected destination on Scottsdale’s Marshall Way, an area renowned for superior contemporary art. The Marshall Gallery achieved prominence for its leading contemporary oil painters and sculptors, mostly from Utah – a little known haven of fine artists.
DeeAn soon married Peter Strub who would help her achieve the gallery that would reflect the consciousness of art as art separates humanity from the rest of creation. They followed the philosophy that “Beautiful experiences leave lasting impressions and the intensity of art can haunt and wake one in the middle of the night. True beauty has power – human beings relate instantly to it whether graphic, formed, music or language arts – and requires no interpreter really.”

The Sinclair Gallery
https://www.thesinclairgallery.com/
126 High Street
Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire
Founder Esther Murphy, (nee Sinclair), is proud to present The Sinclair Gallery, a gallery showcasing works of a Realistic genre, for the most part, by living artists who have either obtained their skills from the current neoclassical ateliers or are impressive prominent self taught artists who capture the essence of real life subjects in various ways.
Realism is taken to mean something original to The Sinclair Gallery, we want to see a realistic style of art portrayed in various ways including old master copies, hyper-realism, narrative, figurative, still-life and representational works, any way that highlights the technical ability that is required to create these works of art.
?The uniqueness of this gallery originates from the founder’s own experience and training in Classical Realism, gained by taking workshops at ateliers such as the Edinburgh Atelier of Fine Art, the Academy Of Realist Art, the Florence Academy and others. It is the gallery's aim to present an opportunity to the public as well as artists to delve into the realm of realism like never before.
The Sinclair Gallery proudly promotes Artists with exceptional talent and skill. As well as visual success on a 2D plain, Artists of this style have to face the challenge of narrative and engagement which the Gallery fully embraces and mentors. Through the portrayal of realism, the Gallery takes the viewer on a journey of inclusivity, focusing on portraiture, still life and landscapes with an emphasis on figurative and naturalistic movements.
As well as the training received at the atelier workshops, Esther, born in Scotland, has travelled and studied part time, taking intensive workshops, with several ‘living masters’ such as John Michael Angel, Fernando Freitas, Jura Bedic, David Gray and Rob Zeller.
Through determination and hard work, she has founded a one of a kind Gallery that offers living Artists the opportunity to display their work, as well as allowing the local community to be involved and engaged with this precious skill. The Gallery also holds regular workshops and classes bringing tutors to the area to further champion the Realist Art movement.
Through experience, Esther has seen the impact of galleries concentrating on investment opportunities rather than on exhibiting beautifully technical and talented artwork, that some may not deem to be commercially viable. This brought Esther to the decision to open a gallery with paintings for the viewer and buyer who also admire these traditional values.

We are committed to helping people discover the value of living with original art. Whether your budget is $500 or $50,000, we believe that you are best-served investing in a one-of-a-kind object that you love. Collecting begins with a personal, visual, and emotional connection to a piece of art. Experience tells us that one-of-a-kind objects bring clients more conversation, more investment return, and most importantly more prolonged enjoyment than any reproduction. Knowing that an accomplished artist, rather than a machine, carefully selected and applied materials resulting in the finished piece you see makes for a genuine, unique experience.
We know that our clients are interested in building a collection of great quality; one that reflects their personal style. We would rather send you home empty-handed than with a painting or sculpture you won't treasure for years to come. Personal relationships are important to us here. We often visit artists' studios and bring paintings back with particular clients in mind. Our experienced staff is happy to make house calls. We are committed to helping you select works of art that enhance and complement the architecture and existing objects in your home's interior.

440A W Duke of Gloucester Street
Williamsburg, Virginia
Williamsburg, Virginia is a natural and inspiring home for all kinds of artists, whether they are steeped in history, architecture, the everyday lives of people, drawn to scenic landscapes or simply seeking a relaxing environment where creativity is encouraged. I am hopeful that the Williamsburg Art Gallery will be a showcase for the beauty of this region as depicted by artists but also, that it will serve as a crossroads for art. Like keeping an open mind to ideas, art which comes from elsewhere is enriching and should provoke curiosity and the desire to learn. A good art gallery has the dual obligation of bringing to the public the art they want to see but also, to sometimes surprise them and pique their interest with the unusual, the unknown or the unexpected.
