Barri Gotic

Painted from the Gothic Quarter in Barcelona, this urban landscape leads the eye towards the sky, the buildings angled. As you walk through the narrow lanes all above you is a fantastic labyrinth of detail, often neglected as we walk with our head down watching the path. Not a landscape in the traditional sense, this work is the landscape of our modern world, yet ironically from a time past showing buildings dating from medieval times, some from as far back as the Roman settlement of Barcelona.
