HeartFelt

Heartfelt is the first in a series of paintings inspired by vintage valentine cards. I spent hours viewing cards at the Henry B. Plant museum in Tampa, FL. They draw me in. I want to know their stories. I want to feel their feels. I want to be a part of the diorama. This experience intrigued me so much I couldn't wait to get home and start painting my spin on these antique correspondences.

Heartfelt tells the story of young love. The speed with which you race into it, the force it has over you, the boundaries you are willing to cross to experience it, and the enticing of the senses are all symbolized here in my love of allegory in paintings. True love takes many forms but the message is clear. It is a fundamental part of the human experience.
