Embroidery with Love on Kizhi

 I traveled from Moscow to St. Petersburg on the Volga River. We docked several places on this 14 day trip. One of which was an open air museum on the island of Kizhi which contained many restored churches from XIII-XIV century. In one of the buidings I observed on the site contained A young woman demonstrating the ancient embroidery techniques of Northern Russia. The light and atmosphere resembled a Vermere painting whiich inspired me to create.
