A reflection of man’s pondering the Old and New Testament writings in his continuing struggle of mortality vs. immortality. The Old Testament is symbolized by the sphinx and wax figurine; the New by the combination of the skull (St. Jerome), the quill feather and ink well. The patterned and folding cloth represents the diversity of mankind and its many cultures, some intermingling, some completely separate. The dried flowers represent the fleeting moment of life with the red rose for love and yellow, brotherhood. The questions look of the self-portrait is just that.
