My Mother's Magic

This is a portrait of my mother in her natural habitat. She is sewing my wedding dress on her magic machine, surrounded by her miniature pen and ink drawings and wall paintings. (I considered including her sculptures and felt art works, but it didn't fit into 40x30" canvas.) I don't think my mother can exist without creating something (despite the fact that she is an engineer), so I couldn't depict her in any other way other then being flooded by her work.
