{"Id":7730,"Name":"Sandy Sherman","Biography":"\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cspan\u003ESandy Sherman, a native of New Hampshire, has been painting in a realistic manner since 1980.\u0026nbsp; Her forte is still life paintings which feature unusual objects with interesting effects of light and color.\u0026nbsp; Irony, whimsy and fun pervade many of her canvases.\u0026nbsp; She also hand paints the frames to tailor fit the subject matter.\u0026nbsp;\u003C/span\u003E\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cspan\u003ESandy trained with Richard Whitney, PhD.H, Debbie Crowder and Peter Granucci.\u0026nbsp; Highlights of her career include awards in competitions hosted by the Academic Artists Association, the Catherine Lorillard Wolfe Art Club in NYC, and the Sharon (NH) Arts Center.\u0026nbsp; In 1992, she was awarded the title of Copley Artist from the Copley Society of Art in Boston.\u0026nbsp; In 2002 she earned a Finalist award in the annual competition in painting hosted by The Artists Magazine.\u0026nbsp; Sandy held two one-woman exhibits of her paintings at Peter Havens in Brattleboro, Vermont to benefit The Aids Foundation. In 2017 she was honored by her community with a Ewing Arts Award. She taught Art at Hawthorne Academy in Antrim, NH as well as tutoring private students.
