A shy child, she began making art at a young age as well as dancing. Later, with a BFA in dance from SUNY Purchase and a move to NYC, Gayle made her living dancing, choreographing, teaching, and doing illustration and graphic design.\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003EStarting in 2012, Gayle decided to fulfill her lifelong dream of being a fine artist working in oils. She has studied under many wonderful teachers at Grand Central Academy, New York Academy of Art, The Art Students League, and Salmagundi Club with teachers\u0026nbsp;Christopher Raccioppi,\u0026nbsp;Alyssa Monks,\u0026nbsp;David Kassan,\u0026nbsp;Quang Ho,\u0026nbsp;Edward Minoff, Travis Schlaht, and\u0026nbsp;Patrick Byrnes, among others.\u003C/p\u003E\r\n\u003Cp\u003EGayle\u0026rsquo;s work has been exhibited at the MEAM Museum (Museu Europeu d\u0026rsquo;Art Modern), Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art, Sotheby\u0026rsquo;s (NYC and Los Angeles), Salmagundi Club, The National Arts Club, Williamsburg Art and Historical Center, Principle Gallery, Abend Gallery, Foundation Gallery, and the New York Hall of Science, among others. Her paintings have appeared in various magazines, books, and films and have been finalists in the\u0026nbsp;Figurativas competition\u0026nbsp;(2019), Art Renewal Center\u0026rsquo;s juried salons (5 times), ModPortrait, the Portrait Society of America competition (5 times), and the Artist\u0026rsquo;s Magazine (4 times) and was a semifinalist in Outwin Boochever and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. Her work has also appeared in Fine Art Connoisseur Magazine, Plein Air Magazine, Artist\u0026rsquo;s Magazine, 1340 Magazine, American Art Collector, and Strokes of Genius. Gayle is a member of the Salmagundi Club and Art Student\u0026rsquo;s League in NY, is an ARC Associate Living Master, and has signature status in the International Plein Air Painters Association and American Women Artists.
