I consider that a preposterous statement. If you have very low standards of what you're willing to call a "good" drawing, maybe. I've seen plenty of bad drawings by people who worked very hard at trying to learn to draw well. This sounds like more of the same modern-day academic party line nonsense I've been hearing from college-brainwashed people since around 1958, stock assertions parroted pretty much verbatim to minimize the importance of realistic rendering. Some people might fall for it, but I know better.
