Last Week to Preorder 2007 ARC Salon Catalogs
June 18, 2008
The ARC Salon Catalogs, with their beautiful color reproductions of the ARC International Salon Winners, are eagerly awaited for each year and treasured as collections of today's masters. Order before June 25, 2008 and take advantage of preorder benefits. The 4th Annual ARC Salon proved a difficulty for our judges as the quality was so impressive that their decisions extended weeks past the deadline. The judges decided to include 150 finalists instead of the usual 100, as it was impossible to eliminate any more items, when those remaining were of such high quality. ARC Chairman, Fred Ross' Keynote Address to the Oil Painters of America, applauded as a definitive analysis of 19th century art history, is included in its entirety. Preorder Now | ||

When ARC Chairman, Fred Ross Spoke at the Met
June 10, 2008
On June 7, 2001-- Fred Ross, Chairman of the Art Renewal Center, addressed a crowd of over 700 portrait artists, gallery owners and members of the press at America's premier institution of art, the Metropolitan Museum in New York, at the American Society of Portrait Artists (ASOPA) Conference. Mr Ross was interrupted at least 10 times to thunderous applause or peals of laughter, as he blasted Modernism and its chief icons, Picasso, Mattisse and DeKooning, with some of the most biting, yet truthful satire that has ever been heard in those sanctified halls.

The ARC Approved™ Atelier BACAA, The Bay Area Classical Artist Atelier is very proud to host this master workshop with ARC Living Master™, Juliette Aristides, gifted artist and author: Location: Barrett Hall, Belmont California (in the San Francisco Bay Area) Working from life and from the masters, you will follow traditional ideas and techniques of portrait painting as you develop vital tools for creating skillful portrait paintings. You will explore varied working methods through master copies, lectures and group discussions, spending a portion of each day working on topical issues such as drawing, composition, value, color and color theory, as you study the way the master artists of the past have handled such challenges.
