Saints and Monsters: Prints by Albrecht Durer
September 29, 2015
This exhibit explores works in the Dallas Museum of Art’s collection by the Renaissance German artist Albrecht Durer. Durer left a profound mark on the course of art history through his contributions to the field of printmaking. Deeply religious, Durer's work often depicts saints or spiritual scenes while other prints featured terrorizing monsters, which served as warnings for those who did not follow Christian teachings. The DMA is located at 1717 North Harwood, Dallas, Texas 75201 and the exhibit runs from August 9 – November 8, 2015. To learn more about this and other exhibitions, please click here. |
