Inspired by the Old Masters of painting, Williams sought out rigorous training in classical drawing and painting techniques at the New York Academy of Art Graduate School of Figurative Art. Recognized as a \u0022Living Artist\u0022 by the Art Renewal Center, he was a semi-finalist in the Art Renewal Center 15th Annual International Salon. Williams has authored two feature articles for International Artist Magazine, and his work has appeared in the published compilations The Nerdrum School and Kitsch: More Than Art.
