It is situated in the former school in the hamlet Vissingy, in Bourgogne France. She organizes an annual exhibition usually in May. Her studio in the Netherlands is in Driebergen (near Utrecht).

For the numerous exhibitions and art fairs Joke Frima travels regularly to the Netherlands. The combination of the very rural and quiet environment in which to work and the frequent busy visits to the Netherlands proves to be particularly fruitful.

Joke Frima finds her subject matter in everyday beauty in nature. In her vegetal still lives she shows us nature not yet picked clean or manicured by man. She looks for common things like a meadow with butterbur, a cluster of strawberries or dandelions. The low viewpoint she chooses, Frima appears to be lying in the grass, makes you want to creep deep into her paintings to find your own way through the leaves. In an abstracted play of texture, rhythm, light and colour, Frima manages to evoke a sense of calm and harmony in a rather modest subject and also grab the viewers' full attention. Simulacrum is winner First Place Prize of the Landscape Category- International ARC Salon 2013-14.

Major publications:
2014 Joke Frima paintings 2014-1989, L Univers des Simulacres publisher: Art Revisited- Joke Frima - ISBN 978-90-72736-88-8
2007 - Joke Frima Manifestations-Paintings - publisher: Art Revisited-Joke Frima ISBN 978-90-72736-53-6
1996 - Joke Frima, drawings and paintings 1986-1996 Publisher: Het Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam

Major solo exhibitions

2014 Galerie Mokum-Joke Frima 25 jaar in Mokum, Amsterdam, NL

2014 -2009 exhibition every year in Mai , In Studio at Vissingy - FR

2010 November - Galerie Mokum-Amsterdam - NL

2007 Joke Frima - Galerie Mokum-Amsterdam, NL

2004 Galerie Mokum "Joke Frima exposeert" - Amsterdam NL

2002 Smelik en Stokking Galleries, Den Haag, NL

2000 Galerie Mokum, Amsterdam, NL

1998 Art Options, Wijk bij Duurstede, NL

1997.
