Mary Kerr

United States

After a 30 year career teaching art, Mary Kerr now devotes her time to painting in her studio in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.  She received a BFA from Mississippi State College and MA and PhD degrees in education from The University of Alabama.  She has studied with various artists in workshops.  She has shown in solo exhibitions as well as juried competitions, winning several awards.  She is represented in private and corporate collections.

Mary’s subjects include still-life, landscape, and portraits.  She is on a constant search to communicate her experience and delight with seeing.  With each  painting, she hopes to relate the joy she finds in a  shape, an expression, a color, a reflection, or light playing across a surface.  Her work can be found at marypkerr.com, or on facebook at Mary Price Kerr Art.
