“The passing of seasons marks significant transformations, evoking endless cycles of birth, death and rebirth.  The painting, Winter, is one of a series of paintings intended to touch on these characteristics. It shows my youngest daughter, Ava, as the personification of winter; bundled and protected in wools and furs. She is adorned with branches from our holly tree, an ancient tree of hope, which signifies continued growth and renewal.” - Robert Liberace
