Bifronte by César Orrico

Bifronte means two fronts or two faces. One looks at the beginning and the other at the end. It is represented under a naturalistic treatment of the human figure and an ascending helical movement.

Inspired by the Roman god Janus, Bifronte is created as a paradigm of existential duality. A man who is the present and who looks to the future behind the mask of his own self. This sculpture, whose faces are the same but with different gestures, aims to reveal a doubling of being and time, where the main figure is able to observe two realities simultaneously. In it, one of the faces is shining like a mirror, reflecting a distorted reality that takes shape under an alternate spectrum of colors.
