LARRY BROOKS
Born in New York, Larry Brooks studied with celebrated New York artists such
as Abstract Expressionist painters Joop Sanders and Alex Minewski and Realist
painter George Wexler.
Larry’s paintings have been exhibited in a few dozen solo and group shows over
the past 30 years, including a special exhibition, Contemporary Masters, Artistic
Eden at the Pasadena Museum of California Art, and has work featured in several
private and corporate collections.
He was also selected as one of 100 artists in the United States to create a unique
work of art for a book and a prestigious exhibition: The Greatest Album Covers
That Never Were which travelled to galleries and museums across the country for
two years, beginning in Los Angeles and ending at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
in Cleveland, Ohio.
An award-winning graphic designer as well as a painter, Larry has created
countless movie posters, album covers, and book designs.
Larry is a longtime member of the Oil Painters of America and is an
Artist Member of The California Art Club, exhibiting in many of the club’s annual
Gold Medal exhibitions.
He currently works and lives in Pasadena, California.
