Eric Johnson is a superlative Boston based Painter and instructor at The Academy of Realist Art Boston who is devoted to the preservation and growth of traditional painting. Eric was awarded a one year full scholarship to the Academy of Realist Art Boston. He later would become a full time instructor and the second person ever to graduate the rigorous and intense observational training provided in the full program at ARA Boston. Eric continues to be a strong participant in the growing appreciation of traditional art in Boston.
Eric’s work has been recognized internationally, he has participated in shows abroad in Europe and won numerous awards in the states. Among his most prominent work is Eric’s painting “Ultramarine Madness” was awarded Best in Show in the 2019 New England Regional Juried Exhibition at the prestigious Boston Guild of Boston Artists which was established in 1914 by the prominent painters of the day, including Edmund Tarbell, William Paxton and Frank Benson. In the same year his painting “The Great Polarity” was awarded a 1st place in Richeson Small Works Show.
