“I painted my first plein air oil painting at the age of 9 and can’t remember when I wasn’t making art. I have always loved capturing people in drawing and painting. And I’m constantly inspired by the beauty of the natural world I see around me. I’m touched by the essence of a place and time; the way the light falls to create a pattern of values and colors. Inspiration can come from a person’s face, objects in a still life or the landscape softened by atmosphere. I prefer to paint from life and that life energy is expressed through my paintings.”
