Bio: THERESE CONTE
Therese Conte is a nationally exhibiting artist and arts educator. She earned her MFA in painting at the prestigious Laguna College of Art and Design. Ms. Conte received her MA and BA in Studio Art, Painting/Drawing from California State University, Northridge CA. She studied at the prestigious Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, CA. and the Los Angeles Academy of Figurative Art, Los Angeles, CA.
Her work has been exhibited at the Booth Art Museum, Georgia,; Laguna Art Museum, Laguna Beach; Hillel Gallery USC, Los Angeles; Bridge Gallery, Los Angeles City Hall; University of New England Gallery, Maine; Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery among other venues.
She is the recipient of numerous grants and awards including, the Albert K Murray Fine Art Foundation Scholarship; 1st Place award Next-Gen Laguna Plein Air Painters Association; Creative Capacity Fund Grant the Center for Cultural Innovation, Los Angeles; Masters Thesis Program Grant recipient, Graduate Studies, Research and International Programs, CSU Northridge; and numerous Beautification Grants from the Department of Cultural affairs, Los Angeles; Proctor & Gamble/Valley Cultural Center, Los Angeles; and the Walt Disney Company.
She maintains a studio in Laguna Niguel, CA and continues to work with the figure and related subjects in her paintings.
