Denise Franzino
Biography
Denise Franzino grew up in Bellmore, Long Island. She is an award-winning artist whose forte is Portraiture & Fine Art. She graduated with honors from The Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA in Illustration. She was an Illustrator for The New York Times, Doubleday Books, Harlequin Books, Penguin Books, Scholastic Magazine & Avon Books before focusing primarily on portraiture. About 3 years after graduating college, Denise began studying under the tutelage of John Frederick Murray. Denise feels that Mr. Murray changed the course of her life. Lacking the necessary skill sets in drawing & painting from college, Denise studied many years with Mr. Murray where she had extensive training in the traditional & classical style of drawing & painting. Under Mr. Murray's guidance, Denise honed her craft to become a professional portrait artist. Her portraits & Fine Art hang in hundreds of homes throughout the country.
In addition to Mr. Murray's teaching, Denise has taken several workshops. Her philosophy is to never stop learning & strive to be the best you can be.
Denise has taken workshops with Ian Roberts, Lois Griffel, John Kilroy, Cedric & Joanette Egeli, Charles Miano, Kathy Anderson & Robert Johnson.
