Since graduating from Pratt Institue in 1979, I have been creating and exhibiting my watercolors of my favorite urban centers; mostly NYC, but Paris, Rome, Florence and Venice most notably.

Since my first one person show at Staempfli Gallery in 1983, my work has been the subject of over 20 solo exhibitions at both galleries ( Hirschl & Adler Modern NYC, 2020, 2016, 2012, 2010,2008, 2006. Forum Gallery, NYC, 2005,2002,2000, 1996) and museums (South Street Seaport Museum, NYC, 2012, Museum of the City of New York, 2006-2005, Frye Museum, Seattle, Wa., 2002).

My watercolors are in the permenant collection of many museums, including The Metropolitan Museum of Art, NYC; The Frye Museum, Seattle, Wa.; The New York Historical Society, The Crocker Museum, Ca.; Newark Museum, N.J., and many more.

My teaching credits include The National Academy of Design, 1990-2001; Lehman College, 2001-2003; Pratt Institute, 2003-2005; Art StudentsLeague of New York, 2006 - Present.

I continue to evolve and attempt to use the skills I have acquired in my chosen medium to create evocative urban landscapes. Cityscapes that try to recapture the wonder and mystery that these architectural environments have instilled in me since I was a small child.

Thank You, Frederick Brosen
