Joseph Todorovitch

United States

Joseph Michael Todorovitch is a contemporary painter, exploring painting through the lens of a naturalist perspective. His paintings search for a breathing sense of space, time, light, and subtle narratives that are personal but allow the viewer to ponder and create meaning. Concern for excellence of craftsmanship is balanced with a freedom to explore. The concert of technical narrative, along with the implied narrative of the subject matter invites the viewer to complete the experience of a Todorovitch work of art.

His draughtsmanship training was developed in the Los Angeles circuit of ateliers at the turn of the century.  He inevitability ended up at the California Art Institute to study naturalist painting in the wake of Glenn Orbik. His work has been collected and exhibited internationally and has been included in extensive publications over the years. Todorovitch proudly holds a Draper Grand Prize from the Portrait Society of America has taught at the Laguna College of Art and Design in California for over a decade.
