Ann Steverson

United States

Ann Moeller Steverson’s paintings, inspired by her study of meditation, depict the human form and seek to capture universal experiences and interstitial moments of pause. In addition to spiritual influences, she is drawn to the dramatic lighting and compositions and expressive impasto textures which inform her brushwork. Steverson has also been influenced by contemporary artist Steven Assael’s use of copper as a painting surface and is herself recognized for the luminous quality she achieves working on her own modification of the metallic substrate. Her work is represented in private and public collections and has been featured in publications and exhibitions across the United States and internationally.
