"I am"....very strong words...a mother, sister, friend, feminist, activist and so much more.
However after raising my family and creating a new life I now can say "I am an artist".
My earliest memories are of enjoying nature, drawing, doodling, using my crayons to make art.
I now paint. I continue to learn by attending workshops given by our modern Realist masters, watch their DVD's, read, travel and visit as many museums as possible. I had the privilege of studying with Jove Wang for 6 years. I was fortunate to be juried into The Art Renewal Center as a Living Artist. I was fortunate to have artists before me bring back Realism the medium I choose to express my work.
My choice for my paintings comes from an appreciation of nature and all things beautiful. I see beauty in an expressive face; my intent and struggle is not to copy the face but to bring the emotions I feel to the image. I continue to strive to create images that viewers can feel and enjoy.
