Kathleen S. Giles is a self taught artist that works mainly in watercolor in a realistic style. She is a signature member of the American Watercolor Society, the National Watercolor Society, American Women Artists, Pennsylvania Watercolor Society, Niagara Frontier Watercolor Society and is a member of the Waercolor USA Honor Society and the International Guild of Realism.
The artist is an award winning internationally known watercolorist, teacher and workshop structor. Her realistic and sensitive portrayal of everyday life has won her many awards around the country. Her painting "Vanity" received the first place purchase award in the 2019 National Watercolor Society show. In 2019 she served as a judge for the American Women Artists and the Adirondack Show of American Watercolors. Her painting "Meat and Potatoes Man" won first place in the portrait category of the international group Global Association of Watercolor Artists. The painting "Sarah" won first place in the Pittsburg Watercolor Society's national show in 2018. My "Oarsman" won the Trails and Streams Medallion in the 2018 Adirondack National Show.
Kathleen had an eight page article in the Watercolor Artist Magazine's April 2020 issue and another in the February 2017 issue. The artist's work was also featured in the French magazine Pratique des Arts twice in 2017. She also has had her work featured on the cover of International Artists magzine along with an eight page article.
The artist maintains a studio and gallery in her home in Western New York State. She teaches classes and workshops around the United States and online.
