Mary Lippert was born in Chicago, IL and grew up in the southwest suburbs. Mary began drawing young to keep her mind busy and her demeanor patient. Mary graduated from Laguna College of Art and Design, Laguna Beach, CA, with a BFA. As a representational figurative artist, she is intrigued by people and how they present themselves authentically and inauthentically. Using traditional skills in a contemporary style, Mary is currently most drawn to domestic scenes, or other scenes she can relate to. Aside from California, Mary has traveled to France, Netherlands, and Spain to study art and has a general affection to all places, from the extremes of big cities to the grace of beach towns.
