Thomas Valenti

Thomas Valenti was President of Allied Artists of America (AAA) from 2006-2017. Valenti is an Honorary Member of (AAA); Emeritus Member of the Salmagundi Club - the organizations highest level of member status and a Fellow Member of the New Jersey Watercolor Society. Valenti has won numerous top awards in all major juried competitions such as: Best-in-Show, Gold Medal of Honor, 2019 in Allied Artists of America's 106th Annual Exhibition; First Place 2007, Salmagundi Club Member Exhibition; 1983 Gold Medal of Honor - Garden State Watercolor Society at Trenton City Museum to name a few. In 2004 Valenti exhibited with the American Watercolor Society (AWS) and his painting was chosen for their Traveling Exhibition. Thomas Valenti has exhibited at The Butler Institute for American Art; The Canton Museum of Art, Ohio; The Bennington Museum of Art, Vermont; The World Art Museum, Beijing, China; The National Arts Club; Salmagundi Club; The Museum of Art and Science, Morristown, New Jersey and many more. His work has appeared in nationally distributed publications such as: October, 1986, the Artists Magazine - "The Tonal Technique for Watercolor Painting" by Thomas Valenti; The American Artist Magazine, 2007, 70th Year Anniversary Issue, Stephen Doherty, Editor-in-Chief, "Similar Technique for Different Mediums". In 2012, friend and fellow artist, Warren Chang asked Valenti to write something for a book that would feature a retrospective of his (Chang's) work. That writing became the introduction to the book, "Warren Chang, Narrative Paintings". The Article was titled, "Warren Chang, an artist for our times. Valenti's work is owned by collectors throughout the United States and has circulated all over the world. Valenti taught, demonstrated, held workshops beginning in 1976. Forced to retire from teaching in 2018 due to serious health issues, he continues to paint in his home/studio since 1978. Born and raised in the South Bronx, Valenti has resided in his Bergen County home in northern New Jersey. His official website is: thomasvalenti.net
