I had a yearning to understand the language of painting realism long before I started my journey to attend The Academy of Realist Art in Toronto, Canada. I have been traveling 100 miles between Buffalo, NY and the Academy one day a week for 17 years under the instruction of Fernando Freitas. I am embracing the mystery and language of realism and am forever grateful. Sadly, I am entering my work during the pandemic of 2020 and the Canadian border is closed. I must reach deep to listen to Fernando's guidance while working independently. The Academy has become my artist family.
