Roberto Luis Zuñet

Spain

Roberto L. Zuñet was born in 1970 in the southern town of Cienfuegos, Cuba. He has been painting since the age of 12. He studied at Rolando Escardó Academy of Fine Arts and graduated in 1985. After this three years of painting, drawing and scultpting, he continued improving his knowledge as an autodidact until starting a degree in Industrial Design.

During this years of studying, he incorporated knowledge of product designs, which became his passion, and skills in illustration, theory of colour, typography and drawing. A few years after he taught drawing at the Polytechnic Institute of Industrial Design.

His former studies, resulted in a fascination for the world of objects and his primer studies in art introduced the human body in order to create the main concept of his work: the human being and its relationship with the objects.

In his current work, the human figure prevails in complex visual environments even if they are industrial, urban or filled with intimist lighting.
