Berry Fritz

Berry Fritz is a British-born Texas artist whose specialty is lushly rendered still lifes, portraits and character studies in the classical tradition. She draws much inspiration from the Dutch and Flemish artists of the 17th century and American artists of the 19th century, but often applies that inspiration to contemporary subjects. Although largely self-taught, Fritz has taken courses at the City of London School of Art, the University of Texas-Pan American and workshops with various noted artists.

Berry's work has been accepted into juried shows nationwide. She was awarded signature membership in Oil Painters of America in 1999. In 2005 she was elected a Fellow of the American Artists' Professional League, headquartered in New York City. She has won Best in Show or First in Oils in many international, national and regional juried shows and has earned numerous secondary prizes, purchase and materials awards. Her work was recently juried into Oil Painters of America 2020 Juried Exhibition at Illume Gallery of Fine Art in St. George, Utah.

Berry Fritz lives in McAllen, Texas, where she is represented by the Nuevo Santander Gallery. Her works are also available through The Good Art Company, Fredericksburg, Texas and The Hughes Gallery, Boca Grande, Florida. Her web site is www.BerryFritz.com.
