Born 1969 in Devon, Alex Callaway is a fine artist based near Worcester in the heart of England. After studying illustration at Falmouth School of Art he produced surreal imagery for the international poster market before focusing on fine art.

Alex has participated in many national and international art exhibitions and competitions with his work winning a number of commendations and prizes. Most recently he won the coveted first prize in the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA) biennial Portrait Prize exhibition, and in 2018 he was selected as a finalist in the prestidious Columbia Threadneedle Prize. In 2017 he was honoured to receive an Alfred Daniels Award in the Royal Society of British Artists (RBA) 300th Exhibition, and in 2016 an Arcadia Contemporary Award in the 12th International ARC Salon.

In 2017 Alex was elected a Member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists (RBSA) and in 2016 an Associate of the Art Renewal Center (ARC). He exhibits at international art fairs and is represented by Beaux Arts Bath in the UK and The Doorway Gallery in Dublin, Ireland.
