Originally from Japan, Hiroshi Hayakawa moved to the US in 1991 to study art. He expresses his visions using variety of mediums including photography, sculptures, as well as drawings and paintings. His current body of work is reinterpretation of Vanitas theme in which he marries the traditional vanitas visual elements and his exploration of figurative elements using symbolism as a common language between them. He would like to express his notion of fleeting beauty in this chaotic world and capture it in a contemplative moment of tranquility that visits us from time to time.
