Alexey Glazunov

Alexey Glazunov – artist – painter – muralist. Born on April 14, 1984 in Kyiv, Ukraine, he received his early foundation in painting at Taras Shevchenko State Art High School. In 2002 he entered the faculty of painting and composition at the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture, Kyiv. Since 2005, he studied at the faculty of monumental painting of the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture. In 2008 he completed his Master's degree in fine and decorative arts, monumental painting at the above-mentioned Academy. From 2008 to 2013, he worked on the creation of decorative wall paintings in private and public interiors. In 2011, the 1st place for the best thematic work at the exhibition MARTS-2011"Picnic on the Roadside" (Kiev) was awarded to his picture “The Dawn. Meeting of Two Worlds”. Since 2012, he worked mainly in the field of monumental painting, including his participation in the painting of murals at the Zverinetsky Monastery in Kiev – Byzantine style of the XII century; at the church of Life-Giving Spring in Odessa – Old Russian style of the XIV-XV centuries; at the New Jerusalem Monastery (restoration of cultural heritage of national importance, Istra, Russia) – Baroque style. Since 2014, he became a member of  the National Union of Artists of Ukraine. In 2014, the President of the State of Palestine, Mahmoud Abbas, awarded a gold medal for his participation in the international project "The Heart of the World", Bethlehem, Palestine. In 2015 he participated in the collaborative project "Day 8" – the picture was exhibited at the National Museum of the History of Ukraine, Kyiv. In 2016 he was awarded by the Metropolitan of Odessa and Izmail, Agafangel, for the cultural contribution to the monumental decoration of the Ascension of the Lord Church, the village of Nerubayskoe (where he acted as the main artist and the developer of monumental  compositions and ornamentals) – the academic style of the late XIX – early XX centuries using Byzantine and Old Russian ornamental traditions. In 2017 he took part in the group international painting exhibition "The Source of Creativity" at the museum of Lee Kezhang, Beijing, China. In 2017, the 1st place was awarded for his paintings  within the framework of the XV International exhibition-contest "Ukrainian Art Week". In 2018, 2019 he has qualified as one of the finalists in the 13th, 14th International ARC Salon Competition. In the fall of 2018 there was a personal exhibition “The Geometry of Aspirations" in Kyiv at the Museum and exhibition center “Kyiv History Museum”. In 2019 Alexey Glazunov has qualified as one of the finalists in the international portrait art competition – the Portrait Now!2019  and his portrait has been presented at the eponymous international exhibition at the Museum of National History, in Frederiksborg castle, which  at the same time is the National Portrait Gallery of Denmark. In 2019 he took part in the group international art exhibition "Genesis" organized by the Cultural Trend magazine and supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine in Dancing House Gallery, Prague, Czech  Republic.
