Amrita Krishnan

Amrita Krishnan is a recent graduate of Northwestern University and lives in the Chicagoland area. For five years, she has been exploring the esoteric medium of scratchboard, and currently ranks as the youngest juried Signature member of the International Society of Scratchboard Artists. One of her recent pieces won an award in 2020 Artist Magazine’s Annual Art Competition. A few years ago, Amrita had the honor of having her work displayed at the US Capitol Building through a leading student art competition. Amrita finds joy in playing with layers of texture through distinct mark-making to depict her subjects. She hopes to explore other innovative ways to find expression through scratchboard.
