Sybiline

Canada

Sybiline is a contemporary painter born in 1976 and living in Quebec, Canada. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in visual art at Laval University, she continued her research on traditional techniques of ancient painting.

Fascinated by the art of the portrait, she rapidly explored the depths of human identity. She drew inspiration from the morphology, thoughts and emotions that she transmits through a refined feminine energy. At the heart of her work, she calls upon the world of dreams as well as the mythological, imaginary and symbolic worlds. She considers painting to be an invaluable way of establishing silent and confidential contacts with her audience. She longs to deliver, for a moment at least, mirrors of ourselves.

Sybiline focuses mainly on her personal works and exhibits in several galleries such as Abend in Denver and Modern Eden in San Francisco. Her paintings have also been exhibited in other group shows in New York, Chicago, Portugal, San Antonio, Reading, San Diego, Boston, Ivoryton, Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal, San Jose and Edmonton.

Sybiline is a member of Poets Artists and Federation of Canadian Artists. Her work has appeared in numerous print and online publications, including Infected by Art, Poets and Artists Magazine, Beautiful Bizarre Magazine, Parcours, Apero Catalogue, 1340 Art Magazine, Pratique des Arts, and The Richeson 75 International Art books.

She received many awards. Among them, semi-finalist for Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series Competition and finalist at "Creative by nature", by Deserres. She got some merit from Canadian Portrait Competition and in 2012, she received the ‘’Best in Show Award’’ from the World Fantasy Convention.
