Peru

Such as many other artists I started showing an special skill for drawing as a child. And not only I felt curious about drawing, but I felt interest in anything that involved handcraft, from the making of fabric dolls to dismantle toys and rebuild them “improved”, etc. But it wasn’t until several year later, around 2005 that I felt the neccesity to get deeply closer to the art world, I started to research about the Works of my favorite artists what at the time where Dali, Antonio Lopez and old masters such as Da Vinci and Rembrandt, I drew all night long. I spent various year learning on my own through books and Internet different ways to perfect my technique. At the time I didn’t acknoledge the painting and I felt it was so difficult I would never learn to Paint. I felt very lost because I didn’t know how to approach my drawing hability. In 2007 I started to post my little drawing in a Blog and by a destiny’s casuality it lead me to meet my wife, she lived a thousand kilometers away in Peru. A year later I recieved the invitation from Jose Enrique Gonzales, the director of the Galeria Artelibre in Spain, to participate in an Artshow with artists of the stature of Master Eduardo Naranjo. I participated with two very modest drawings. From then on I only wanted to evolve to be prepared for the next Show. I didn’t know how, but I wanted to be at the same level of that Master.
My app is apprenticeship is constant and nurtures specially from the old Masters and contemporary artists I admire, studying their Works and understanding the processes of each one of them. My referent had been changing through the years parallel to my artistic progression, actually they are: Rembrandt, Michaël Borremans, Nicola Samori, Vincent Desiderio, Odd Nerdrum, Golucho, Felipe Alonso and a long list of realist masters of the finals of the XIX, such as Vilhelm Hammershøi, Emile Friant, Abbott Handerson Thayer, Charles Frederic Ulrich, etc.
