Mark McDermott

Mark McDermott was born in England in 1968 and immigrated to Canada with his family when he was 6 years old. As with most children, his love for drawing started early by copying cartoons and quickly progressed into winning art and poster competitions. Several years after graduating high school, Mark discovered a three-year program in Graphic Design and Illustration which turned out to be a perfect mix of technical skills and creativity.
After 15 years as an Art Director, engaged in branding and design, Mark re discovered art and began his journey painting in oils in his spare time. Twists and turns in life took him away from painting for 8 years and now, over 20 years into his career as an art director Mark re discovered painting again in 2017. A change in style proved to be the catalyst to energize Mark's passion for art. He looks forward to continuing to hone his craft and pass on his knowledge to a new generation of artists.
