Louise Daoust

United States

For as long as she can remember, Louise Daoust has always dreamt of being an artist. Careers and family filled up her life until her dream could no longer be pushed aside and had to become reality. When Daoust started painting, she expected to be attracted by abstract or impressionist art but quickly discovered her interest for details and precision. It was clear from that moment that classical realism had chosen her path …

Daoust studied with local artists around Buffalo, New York and was quickly introduced to the “trompe l’oeil” teachings of John Yerger.

Daoust also enrolled at the Academy of Realist Art in Toronto. Their teachings, based on the techniques of the old masters, provided Daoust with the classical drawing and painting skills she needed to express abstractions and impressions into the crisp touch of reality.
