Steven Mummert

S. C. (Chris) Mummert is a full-time professional, currently living in San Diego, CA. Born and raised there, he loves to paint Southern California’s dazzling sunlight.
Privately mentored by John Asaro, he paints exclusively in oils, with much of his work focusing on scenes with people.
He’s shown at the Cowboy Hall of Fame, the Fischer Museum and The Haley … and was a figurative finalist in ARC’s 2014/2015 International Salon.
Mummert’s popular articles on painting have been published and distributed worldwide on FineArtViews.
Art of the West magazine recently featured him in their May/June 2020 issue.
Regardless of subject matter, the brilliant effects of sunshine are an ever-present theme within his art. He laughingly says, “I want people to feel like they need sunscreen on while standing near one of my paintings!”
