Wolves in Canada are being killed each year as a scapegoat because of the decline of endangered mountain caribou. Habitat loss due to industrial activities like logging and mining are the main cause for the decline in the caribou populations. With this painting I want to bring attention to this wolf, to show how beautiful and vulnerable they are. 'Water Rising' is a metaphor for the fact that if we continue to allow this to happen, there won't be any wolves.
