“The model is a 9-year-old girl of mixed French-Greek descent, a beautiful girl with big eyes. Unfortunately, she can’t play the violin. I chose this pose because I liked her casual expression while she was posing. I put gold leaf on the background and painted a picture of 19th century wallpaper. I painted this picture for a technique course to be published in a Japanese art magazine.” – Hiroshi Furuyoshi
