Tender Mercies
Published on May 27, 2021
ARC Living Master Julio Reyes will be unveiling 12 new works in "Tender Mercies", his solo exhibition at Arcadia Contemporary.
"'Tender Mercies' is an intimate collection of egg tempera paintings, focusing on moments of quiet grandeur, transformation, and spirit. In these works, I was seeking to express the dignity within unnoticed moments; the glowing memory of something larger that is now lost - a gentle revelation, filled with longing, that unfolds only to the careful observer. Here is a quiet place, not presented as an escape from the tumult of modern life and it's kaleidoscope of novelties - but as desperately overlooked treasures, tucked away from sight..." - Julio Reyes
The exhibition runs from May 22 - June 13, 2021 at Arcadia Contemporary's new location 421 W Broadway, New York, NY 10012.

Betsy's Gift - The Works of N.C., Andrew and Jamie Wyeth
Published on May 19, 2021
Betsy James Wyeth devoted much of her adult life to supporting the work of the three artists in the family that she became part of: Andrew Wyeth, whom she married in 1939; his father, Newell Convers Wyeth; and James (Jamie) Browning Wyeth, one of her two sons with Andrew. Much less known is Betsy Wyeth’s passion for collecting work by each of them. Over the years she assembled a rich and varied collection of paintings, drawings, and watercolors depicting subjects from the two places that dominated their careers: the area around their homes and studios in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, and in Midcoast Maine, where the extended Wyeth family has summered since the 1920s. Upon Betsy’s passing in 2020, the Farnsworth Art Museum received a bequest of twenty-seven works by this distinguished group of American artists: six by N.C., two by Andrew, and nineteen by Jamie.
The exhibition runs from May 14, 2021 - March 27, 2022 at the Farnsworth Art Museum, 16 Museum St, Rockland, ME.
