Julien by Hiroshi Furuyoshi (Japanese, b.1959) has sold at Christie's South Kensington in London for £39,650($58,404), (against a ridiculously low estimate of $7,000 to $10,000). This painting won Best in Show in the International 2008-2009 ARC Salon™ Competition.
To quote Christie's :
