Turning Heads: Rubens, Rembrandt and Vermeer

This exhibition features works by Dutch and Flemish artists of the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries who were exponents of the "tronie" – an intriguing painting of a head. Artists experimented with new techniques in portraying the humanity and character of a sitter through costume, lighting and expression.
The exhibition includes works by Vermeer, Rembrandt, Rubens, Sweerts, and more.
Turning Heads: Rubens, Rembrandt and Vermeer takes place from 2/24-5/26/24 at the National Gallery of Ireland, 2 Merrion Square W, Dublin, Ireland.
